I’m Amanda Edwards
I'm a Mom; I'm a Sister and Daughter and Auntie; I'm a Cousin and a Niece and a Friend; an Activist and a Feminist; a Dancer; an Artist; an Empath; I'm a Speaker and a Listener; a Reader; a Lover of Music and Singing; a Believer in the Power of our Open Hearts; a Lifelong Learner; I am someone who is still Exploring my own Agency; someone who wants to bring Light to the Darkness, while valuing the Magic of the Moonlight.
This work has truly changed the way I think and feel about myself! I am more free to explore and be empowered in my desire, playfulness, triggers, and boundaries. It has improved the way I communicate with people in my life; in intimate relationships, as well as with everyone from my family to my co-workers. Most significantly for me, actively participating in this work has changed the way I show up for myself, for those around me, and how I carry myself through the world. My goals include to demystify, deshamify, and abolish judgement around sex & intimacy topics, and to do so in a way that all participants feel as safe and held as possible.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I bring years of therapeutic experience to create a multidisciplinary approach. I've completed the Somatica Institute Core Training program on Sex, Intimacy, and Relationship Coaching, the Couples Training and the Advanced Training, and now assist in teaching the course. I have completed the ketamine-assisted therapy program with the Psychedelic Research and Training Institute (PRATI), and also have a thriving psychedelic medicine practice. As a social worker for the last 20 years, I've worked in fields including domestic violence and sexual assault education/support, addiction and recovery, family and children's services, and hospice.
I have also been a dancer since I was a child, and continue to use dance and other art forms to connect to my heart and intuition, and return home to my body.
